A Tribute To You: A Loving God Sees

So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. "All who rage against you will surely be ashamed and disgraced; those who oppose you will be as nothing and perish.”

(Isaiah 41:10)

A white friend for whom I have great respect asked for ideas for him, or for us to collaborate, to do anti-racism work.

To each of you who has paid a high price to stand with those whose backs are against the wall, God sees.

We need to remind one another that God sees us because there are times it will feel like nobody else does. Here is where we need to tell ourselves, “I am not just doing this for personal attention!”

I know a few Latine folks who speak up when they see anti-Blackness. They know the risks. Some of them have been cancelled by their families. I know some who have been abandoned by people they’ve been around for decades after they chose to support their transgender friends.

If you elect justice for the future over comfort with the past, you could face moments, even seasons, of alone-ness. God is with you.
